About Jane Byrne Chartered Accountants
My name is Jane Byrne and I am a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Consultant. I trained with Grant Thornton for four years, focusing on tax compliance and tax planning, where I gained invaluable experience working within one of Ireland’s leading tax departments. During this time, I worked closely with sole traders, partnerships, and SMEs, developing a strong understanding of the challenges faced by modern businesses in an ever-changing financial environment.
Following my qualification in both accounting and tax, I moved to Australia where I worked with an Irish–Australian accounting firm. I managed offices in Emerald and Brisbane, Queensland, with a core focus on tax planning, supporting SMEs, improving cash-flow management, and providing ongoing advisory services to clients.
Our Practice
Upon returning to Ireland, I obtained my practising certificate and teamed up with my father, Hugh Byrne, who has been in practice in Tullamore for over 40 years. Together we combine extensive experience with a modern, forward-thinking approach, including the provision of cloud-based accounting services. These systems support better cash-flow management and allow clients instant access to financial information for internal review, cash-flow monitoring, and banking requirements.

We have developed a strong niche in servicing clients within the medical profession. We act as advisors to medical consultants and General Medical Practitioners, offering specialist guidance in the management and development of medical practices.
In addition, we have gained substantial experience working with the farming community. We provide expert advice on retirement planning, farm transfers, VAT registration, incorporation, and employer registration, ensuring farmers receive practical and informed guidance tailored to their sector.
